Geotechnical Laboratory Technician – (No experience necessary)
Part-time
Skylands Testing is looking for a part time Geotechnical Laboratory Technician(s). Responsibilities include: testing soils in accordance with established standards, documenting results in a clear manner, communicating with other staff and project managers, sample management. Workload varies by client needs but is expected to require a min. of 15-25 hours per week. Flexible schedule, weekend work possible.
No experience necessary, will train. Basic qualifications: H.S. diploma/GED or higher, ability to think analytically, ability to understand directions, meticulous attention to detail, ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner, able to stand throughout a 3-6 hr. shift, able to lift 40 lb. occasionally. Preferred qualifications: working towards an engineering or earth sciences degree/career, Microsoft excel experience, previous geotechnical laboratory experience. Geotechnical Engineer/EIT
Part-time
Skylands Testing is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer or EIT to perform and supervise laboratory testing, assist equipment maintenance and QC/QA. Ideal candidate will have 1+ yr. experience in laboratory testing, and subsurface investigations. Laboratory experience should include sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, soil classification, Proctor, CBR, consolidation, and triaxial tests. Field experience should include field layout of borings, boring inspection & supervision (split-spoon, Shelby tube, rock coring), and field classification of soils using Burmister and USCS.
